The photo editing qualities are weaker, but most of the main functions are there. Their brushes are much nicer and it can still do vectors. I find Clip is easier to use on an artistic front. It has all the features and more versatile painting features than photoshop. If you're painting digitally and creating art and designs, Clip is amazing. ![]() CLIP STUDIO PAINT COST WINDOWS 10Then of course windows 10 made it obsolete and I had to sub for $124/year. It used to be you paid $600 for a CD of photoshop (I had cs2) and it lasted me 11 years. ![]() ![]() I used photoshop since 2006 and just recently did I cut it and I'm using clip studio exclusively. CLIP STUDIO PAINT COST PROI do like Adobe CC for Photoshop and Acrobat and having Premiere Pro is nice in the event I have to edit a video but I am asking if it would be wise to give that up and switch to CSP and use alternative applications for the non-art related endeavors of my business. Just to explain what I do, I'm a hobbyist artist since March of 2020 and although I am very familiar with PS's interface in the past for graphic design, I run a small business in which I make graphics for my business and soon will incorporate original artwork from this awesome hobby I took up. If I was to make the switch, will I run into an issue where a possible employer will ask me for a PSD or if I was to work with a team in say, making a comic, will there be a form of ecosystem confliction if not everyone can access the same workflow file? I know PS is a "industry standard" application so PSDs are often shared around. changing the color of a reference photo to suit a different palette, cropping a logo out and making a banner? Is CSP good at basic photo manipulation and graphic design I. I am currently using photoshop CC 2021 on a student license and I am really on the fence about making the switch due to financial reasons (even at $30 with the student license a month it adds up to my expenses) and I heard on Black Friday CSP goes on sale for half of it's $220 USD price tag. CLIP STUDIO PAINT COST UPDATEWhen you purchase update pass again for 2.Hello, I heard alot of good things about Clip Studio Paint especially for making art and comics and it's a one time purchase. The reaction probably wouldn’t have been this bad if that wasn’t the When the update pass expires it will make you use the last permanent version you own, so 2.0 in this case. Will the features even be worth the update pass cost? We don’t know because there’s been nothing but silence since. I ended up never using it but I still recommended it to other artists because I genuinely thought it was something worth supporting.ĬSP has a wide wealth of tools to assist in comic making, as well as a robust library of !user contributed! resources that would be hard to maintain if the program didn’t have the community goodwill that it just very quickly brought crashing down in one tweet.Īctually, I have a lot of questions about what their future plans really are, since they didn’t really release a roadmap of planned features for 2.x onwards, or even how much the subscription is gonna be. I got a license myself a short while back because there was a feature in CSP that wasn’t in krita. I still like the program, but have now almost fully switched to Krita, as it just works so well (version 5 is amazing). I have come from Photoshop, then switched to CSP as it was so much better for art. Perhaps the community and the devs could chime in to lspread the word? I try to do the best from my part. CLIP STUDIO PAINT COST UPGRADETo pay for upgrades is understandable, but why not make it a single upgrade price? I guess we should be happy that perpetual licenses are still there, but for how much longer?Īs a cause of this, I can see a lot of users trying out or switching to Krita. It seems like they gradually want to phase out perpetual licenses for subscriptions. Offering a perpetual license is a good idea, because a lot of people hate subsciptions, however there is a catch… The perpetual license for v.2 will not give you an update for 2.1, which you will only get with another upgrade pass/subscription. ![]() To upgrade from version 1 you need to by either a new perpetual license or an upgrade pass (a subscription plan). You might have read the news today that Clip Studio Paint will release v.2 in 2023. ![]()
